At the “ARTiNCONTRO” Gallery in Montesilvano (PE), directed for years by Fabrizio Serafini, sixty-two works will be on display from Saturday, March 2 to Sunday, May 19, 2019. This group exhibition aims, in particular, to promote and enhance the perception of the sea. Each artist has presented two works, one of which can be found in the produced catalog. With this themed exhibition, the concrete need to come together to discuss art is expressed. There will be a serious dialogue about our heritage, which, despite all the many problems that afflict it, attracts. There is a desire to meet, and the concreteness of the exhibition allows us to grasp combinations of different codes, from figurative to informal, from surreal to geometric abstract. All the artists have the sea in their memory and, working in their studios, always attentive to the world, have opened up to reasoning and focusing on a subject in multiple interpretations. In well-motivated works, from photography to mixed techniques, all vertically developed in the dimensions of 70 x 50 cm, affectionate references to the sea from all shores emerge. In regulated experiences, the participants' definitions have gathered profiles, reliefs, hints, signals, stratifications, arches, curves, deep levels, coasts, coves, inlets, a geography of places, a semantics of blue, breaks, veins, beaches, ridges …
Within the channels of tradition, innovation, and experimentation, the artists have moved, thus following the values of analysis of comments and linking to originality and the use of languages even in a transversal way. This exhibition aims to be a “focus,” but also a quick “reportage” on the art of the moment in Italy, obviously not exhaustive given the limited number of participants considered, which does not disdain to set a line of resilience. Meeting and conversing with “tourists by chance,” “travelers of the soul,” “insiders,” “groups of users,” “companions on the road,” and many other partialities means training the eyes to know how to see, to know how to gather balances, past and/or emerging, from semantic to chromatic ones. Clearly, knowing how to see a painting or a sculpture helps to understand the world and to test whether it will have a future, among averted apocalypses, ongoing epochal migrations, economic crises to overcome, terrorism to be calmed.
The following artists, from the world of painting and photography, enthusiastically accepted the invitation to participate:
Laura Amato, Arvedo Arvedi, Luciano Astolfi, Maurizio Bonolis, Alfonso Caccavale, Nando Calabrese, Beatriz Cardenas, Nicola Caroppo, Alfredo Celli, Elisabetta D’Agnano, Maria Pia Daidone, Emilia Della Vecchia, Sandra Di Marcantonio, Anna Di Maria, Mimmo Emanuele, Carmine Galiè, Katia Lupò, Ibrahim W. Mahjoub, Ida Mainenti, Salvatore Marsillo, Mauro Molinari, Lucio Monaco, Monica Memoli, Silvio Paolini, Myriam Risola, Antonio Salzano, Maurizio Schächter Conte, Renato Tagliabue, Clara Tirone, Ernestina Zavarella, Antonio Zenadocchio.
These artists have decided to “join forces” to attract the attention of the media and the circuit of “enlightened collectors.” The various and diverse technical-linguistic declinations present are lively and vital, which, in part, chase each other along a “fil rouge” of connections and links with the best intentions of offering a curtain-showcase of active horizons; almost a tight fan, legitimate, fresh, vibrant, and, moreover, beating with “border exchanges.” We read a plurality of perspectives to grasp the variety of the world.
In a significant register, therefore, they circulate and allow us to capture new mental profiles and characteristics of reality, rendered in an alternating way, between persuasive coincidences and compelling correspondences.
